Marjorie E. Seery, 88, of Moline, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, in her daughter's home in Geneseo, after a two-year battle with cancer. Her loving caretakers were her daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and James Rein and friend Madeline Jones. Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Bethel Wesley United Methodist Church, with The Reverend George Loveland officiating. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, and one hour before services Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to Bethel Wesley United Methodist Church, Moline. Marjorie Ernestina Seery was born January 16, 1917, in Moline, to Harrison and Grace (Bartz) VanAuken. She lived her entire life in Moline, a city in which she took great pride, and graduated from Moline High School. She married Harry L. Bruch in 1936, and had three daughters, Gayle, Barbara, and Nancy. She married Frank Seery in 1963. She was employed with the Moline public school system as a secretary at Washington Elementary School and at the Moline Board of Education. Family, church, and friends were at the core of her being. She loved people and nurtured a multitude of friendships with her kind and loving heart. She was a devout Christian member of Wesley Methodist Church and Bethel Wesley United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and was an active participant in many church groups and committees. Upon retirement, Marj enjoyed traveling within the United States and in Europe with her life-long friend, Marguerite (Weaver) Etzel. Marj also enjoyed crocheting, music, and ballroom dancing. Marj is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle and James Rein of Geneseo, Nancy and James Standard of San Diego, California, and Steven Lammle of Fisher, Illinois; three grandchildren, Kristine Hires of Fisher, Robert Lammle of O'Fallon, Missouri, and Kelly Paige Standard of San Diego; three great-granddaughters, Alison, Megan, and Nicole Kelley, all of Fisher; and nephews, Dennis Fowler, Timothy John, and Richard John Jr, all of Moline, and Larry John of San Diego. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara (Bruch) Lammle, age 54, of Fisher, Barbara and Steven's infant sons, Dean Robert and Michael Guy Lammle, her grandson, Mark Alan Standard, age 23, of San Diego, and sisters, Lyla Fowler and Arlene John.
