Marian Boxman, 93, of Milan, Illinois, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009, in Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. With The Reverend James Allemeier officiating. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church, Moline.
The former Willa Marian Baumbach was born April 2, 1916, in Rock Island, the daughter of Dale and Martha (Sullivan) Baumbach. She graduated from Rock Island High School. She married Albert ?Jack? Boxman on May 31, 1947, in Rock Island. He died in 1977. In earlier years, she had been a telephone operator, a clerk, and a dance instructor.
Marian had been an active member of Christ Episcopal Church, Moline, where she was president of Episcopal Church Women, a member of the Altar Guild, and taught Sunday school. She was treasurer of the Rock Island Episcopal Deanery and a long-time member of the Indian Bluff Ladies Golf League. She loved to dance, and enjoyed knitting and gardening.
Marian is survived by five children and their spouses, Sharon and Dan Hoffmann of Davenport, Iowa, Sandra and John Sigsworth of Kingswood, Texas, Dale and Mary Brahm of East Moline, Judi and Mike Cirricione, of Moline, and John and Annette Boxman of Springfield, Illinois; eleven grandchildren, Chris Phillips, Sarah King, Dan Sigsworth, Theresa Christian, Brian Brahm, Becky Comp, Walker Boxman, Tim and Bob Woeckener, and Paul and Michele Cirricione; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, Dale Baumbach, and a grandson, Darryl Sigsworth.
