Margret Lawrence, 82, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013, in her home.
Services are 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley. Entombment is in Rock Island Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Margret Lawrence Memorial Fund, which will be established in her name.
The former Margret Ellen Ogle was born April 8, 1930, in Mercer, Missouri, the daughter of Homer and Esta May McReynolds Ogle. She married Albert Richard Lawrence Jr., on October 21, 1949, in Rock Island. He died August 16, 1999. After raising five children, she returned to nursing school and graduated from the former Franciscan Hospital School of Nursing in 1977. She was nursing supervisor at the former Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley, for 8 years, and loved teaching a Certified Nursing Assistant class there. She loved to watch television and enjoyed knitting scarves.
Margaret is survived by three children and their spouses, Colette and John Kissling of Coal Valley, Kent and Kimber Lawrence of Barrington, Illinois, and Beth A. Lawrence of Coal Valley; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Lawrence of Moline, Illinois, eight grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Tom Stutz of Lawrence, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sons, Rick and Jeff Lawrence.
