Aledo, Illinois Margaret Hanson, 91, of Aledo died on Thursday, December 06, 2001 at the Mercer County Hospital. Memorial Services for Margaret Hanson will be held on Saturday, at 11:00 AM at the College Avenue Presbyterian Church, Aledo. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the College Avenue Presbyterian Church or to Serenity Hospice. Private burial will be in Oneida Cemetery. Trimble Funeral Home, Aledo is in charge of arrangements. Margaret Frances Sheahan was born March 28, 1910 in Galesburg, Illinois to Charles T. and Mary Andrews Sheahan. She attended school in Galesburg through the 8th grade, then moved to Altona where she graduated from the old Altona High School. She graduated from Knox College in 1931 and was awarded the William Evans Leslie Service Award. She was president of the Tri-Delt Sorority and a member of Mortor Board while at Knox College. She began her teaching career in West Point, Illinois and went on to teach in Table Grove, Bradford, Avon and Aledo. Margaret married Dan Marshall Hanson on June 16, 1936 in Altona, Illinois. They were married for 46 years and had two children, Dan C. Hanson and Patricia Hanson. Margaret was an active member of the College Avenue Presbyterian church, the blood bank, the Mercer County Hospital Auxilliary and various other volunteer groups. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Pat Dougherty of Deerfield, Illinois and 3 grandchildren: Kelly Dougherty of Evanston, IL; Kerry Dougherty of Des Plaines, IL and Dan Dougherty of Barrington, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dan on February 5, 1980 and her son, Dan C. Hanson on Septebmer 7, 1963.
