Lucille M. Leech

Lucille M. Leech, 93, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Friday, December 19, 2014, in Riverwood Care Center, East Moline, Illinois.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Union Congregational Church, 1811 53rd Street, Moline, with The Reverend Randy Heckman officiating. The family will remember Lucy with friends at a luncheon at the church following the service. Memorials may be made to the church. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, and Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, is assisting the family.

The former Lucille Marilyn Bos was born July 26, 1921, in Rock Island, Illinois, to Carl T. and Eva B (York) Bos. She married Harold A. Leech on May 10, 1942, in Moline. He died August 20, 2004. She was a secretary for Gilbert E. Leech Company, Moline, and earlier had worked at Deere and Company, Rock Island Arsenal, and for various temporary services.

Lucy was a member of Union Congregational Church since 1931, where she was president and secretary of A'Dettes Society and sang in the choir with her lovely soprano voice for almost 80 years. She was president and 14th District Junior Director of Moline Junior Women's Club, a life member of Oakwood Country Club, and active in PTA in Moline and Rock Island. She loved spending time with her family and friends, enjoyed photography, golf, sewing, baking her famous banana bread and brownies and other treats, and adored her granddog Taz.

Lucy is survived by three children and their spouses, Jeff and Sue Leech of Rock Island, Steve and Sharon Leech of Milan, and Teresa Dorethy of Moline; five grandchildren, Stacie and Dan DeVries, Becky and Ian Schroeder, Shane and Molly Leech, Katherine Leech, and Tom Leech; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, sisters, Dorothy Driesbach and Ruth Beglau, and brothers, Carl Bos and Richard Bos.
