Lucille D. LeBeau, 98, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Tuesday, September 1, 2020, in UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Memorials may be made to Friendship Manor Nursing Home Fund for those who don’t have funds for care.

The former Lucille Dorman was born March 30, 1922, in Greenwood, Mississippi, to Frank and Eulah (Johnson) Dorman. She married Charles William Mitchell LeBeau on April 21, 1947, in Front Royal, Virginia. The couple raised their family in Excelsior, Minnesota. He died July 1, 1991.

In earlier years, Luci opened an art program in sculpture for blind and sighted students in Philadelphia and Washington, North Carolina. She and her husband lived in Detroit, Boston, New York City, and Philadelphia and spent their retirement years in Washington, NC. Luci had been a resident of Friendship Manor for the past 25 years. She was a member of First Congregational Church, Moline, was an avid bridge player, traveled extensively, and loved reading and jigsaw puzzles. She always encouraged her family and friends to “go for it!”

Luci is survived by three children and spouses, William and Beverly LeBeau of Jamesville, New York, Shirley Morton of Moline, and Michele and Doug O’Reilly of Villa Park, Illinois; and five grandchildren, Lotus Vortex, Tyler Morton, Sam O’Reilly, Marcus LeBeau, and Shannon LeBeau. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son-in-law, Craig Morton; and siblings, Eleanor Hurst, Dorothy Eggert, and Frank Dorman.
