Lorene O. Horton

Lorene O. Horton, 83, of East Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, January 29, 2019, in UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Entombment is in Greenview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, East Moline. Friends are invited to join the family at a luncheon at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe following the entombment. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association or a favorite charity.

The former Lorene Sartor was born July 31, 1935, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, to James and Edna (Roby) Sartor. She married John Horton on October 23, 1952, in Mountain Grove. She was a member of Northcrest Calvary Baptist Church, Moline, and enjoyed gardening, canning, and making treats for her family.

Lorene is survived by her husband of 66 years, John; five children, Judy Egert and her husband Robin of Moline, John Horton of Silvis, Kathy Newkirk and her husband Gary of Moline, Carol Emmert of Marion, Illinois, and Barb Horton of Moline; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Andy Sartor of Mountain Grove. She was preceded in death by a son, Jack Horton, a great-granddaughter Tessa Horton, and six siblings.
