Loren C. Torres, 61, of New Windsor, Illinois, died Sunday, July 29, 2012, in his home
There will be a gathering of family and friends from 12 Noon to 1:45 p.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley, Illinois. Burial will follow at Rock Island National Cemetery.
Loren Craig Torres was born July 21, 1951, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Charles Gonzalo and Jane Cummings Torres. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, and was employed at John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline, for 30 years, retiring in 2002. He enjoyed karate and martial arts, and belonged to the Masonic Lodge.
Loren is survived by a son, Wade Torres of Attleboro, Mass., two grandchildren; and ten siblings, George, Maria, Charlie, Tony, Hank, Lupe, Juanita, Raoul, Arthur, and Josephine.
