Margaret C. Saller, 93, of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, February 7, 2012, in Amber Ridge Assisted Living, Moline.
Services are 9:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church, Colona, with Rev. Duane Jack officiating. Burial is in St. Mary?s Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, where a wake service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick?s Catholic Church or the Animal Aid Humane Society, 239 50th Street, Moline, IL 61265.
The former Margaret Catherine King was born September 15, 1918, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Louis J. and Rilla (Weideman) King. She married Leo S. Saller on June 29, 1940, in Moline. He died October 25, 2011.
Margaret worked as a key-punch operator for John Deere Plow Planter in Moline for 16 years, retiring in 1982.
She was a member of St. Patrick?s Catholic Church, Colona, and was involved in the Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. She loved sewing, needlework, and ceramics. Margaret and Leo had 71-plus happy years of marriage. They enjoyed ballroom dancing and traveling, taking 21 cruises over the years.
Margaret is survived by two children and their spouses, Janice and Eddie Earnest of Moline, and Kenneth and Peggy Saller of Merritt Island, Florida; two grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer and Donovan Houser and Erica and Brian Williams; and three great-grandchildren, Jordan and Emily Houser and Reese Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, and a grandson, Patrick Leo Earnest.
