Lisa M. Arkfeld

LisLisa M. Arkfeld, 52, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Saturday, June 25, 2022, in her home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, July 9, 2022, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Memorials in Lisa’s memory may be made to the Greater Mississippi Valley chapter of NAMI - National Association on Mental Illness.

Lisa was born September 29, 1969, in Biloxi, Mississippi, to James and Charlotte (Griffin) Arkfeld. Her early years were adventurous when her parents taught in American schools overseas. She lived in Bolivia, Peru, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. In addition, she traveled to numerous countries in South America, Central America, Europe and South Asia. Lisa graduated from high school at Berkshire School in Sheffield, MA, and college at Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, NY. Her hobbies included horseback riding, theater lighting, writing poetry, jewelry making, reading, and playing backgammon. Her greatest love in life was her cats. They provided immense companionship and joy to her life.

For the last twenty-three years she resided in Moline and Rock Island, Illinois. In the early years of her life in Moline, she devoted herself to volunteer work assisting others who shared her battle with mental illness. She was deeply involved with the local Greater Mississippi Valley chapter of NAMI- National Alliance on Mental Illness.

She is survived by her parents, Charlotte and James Arkfeld of Davenport, Iowa, brother, Jason Arkfeld of Los Banos, California, uncle, Larry Arkfeld of Yreka, California, and numerous cousins.
