Lillie Mae (Bragg) Bell, 72, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Tuesday, January 10th, 2023, at Generations in Rock Island.
Services are 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 21st, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with The Rev. Dr. Eddie Bragg officiating. Visitation is 10:00 a.m. until time of services. Cremation will take place following services at Trimble Crematory. Memorials may be made to Victoria Bell, for a fund to be established.
The former Lillie Mae Bragg was born on January 31, 1950, in Osceola, Arkansas, the daughter of James Earl and Liza (Burrage) Bragg.
In 1972 she moved from Osceola to Rock Island, Illinois. And became employed at the Rock Island Arsenal, where she worked for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her grandchildren and great-grandson were her pride and joy. Lillie had a passion for cooking and dancing, she was good at both. She had a joking spirit and loved to laugh.
Lillie Mae is survived by her beloved daughter, Victoria Bell and her fiancé, William Newman, of Independence, Missouri; two grandsons, Xavier D. Clark and Javon D. Whiteside, Jr.; grand-daughter, Javin N. Whiteside; great-grandson, Ashton J. Whiteside; siblings, Mary Randolph of Rock Island, Helen (Melvin) Fountain of Michigan, Wilbert Earl (Annie) Bragg of Arkansas, Johnny Bragg of Rock Island, Dr. Eddie (Margaret) Bragg of Michigan, and Deacon Edward Charles (Sandra) Bragg of Tennessee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Earl Bragg and Liza Bragg-Dickerson; siblings, Mary Lee Bragg and Fred Bragg; and Victor Hale, who was Victoria’s father and Lillie Mae’s close friend.
