Leslie H. Anderson

Leslie H. Anderson, 91, of Rock Island, Illinois, formerly of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, May 5, 2016, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois.

Services are 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2016, at Riverside United Methodist Church, Moline, where he was a member, with The Reverend Scott Carlson officiating. Cremation has taken place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the church.

Les was born November 2, 1924, in Moline, the son of Leslie and Anna (Werbech) Anderson. He married Rose Fallace on January 25, 1944, in Westerly, Rhode Island. The couple was later divorced. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy.

He graduated from the Chicago College of Chiropodry and Pedic Surgery in 1952. He went on to work for International Harvester Farmall Works in Rock Island as a machine operator for 21 years, retiring in 1985.

Les is survived by three children, Rodney and Barbara Atkins, Darlene Atkins, and Deborah Choinard; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Muriel Isaacson.
