Leah Ruth Letch

July 12, 1922 — February 5, 2002

Aledo, Illinois Leah Ruth Letch, 79, of Aledo, formerly of Rockford and East Dubuque, died Tuesday, February 5, 2002 at the Aledo Health and Rehabilitation Center. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at Trimble Funeral Home, Aledo, with a Prayer Service at 8:00 by Rev. John Crede of the United Methodist Church, Aledo. Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Miller's Funeral Home, East Dubuque, Illinois with Visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Aledo United Methodist Church. Leah was born on July 12, 1922 in East Dubuque, Illinois to Elmer & Ruth M. (Taylor) Kroll. She married John W. Letch on September 15, 1947 in East Dubuque. He preceded her in death on January 3, 1977. Leah received her Registered Nursing Degree from Wesley Memorial Hospital, Chicago. She dedicated her life to nursing, retiring in 1986. She worked as a nursing instructor and supervisor of nurses for 20 years with the Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, Illinois. She was a supervisor with Wesley Willows Nursing Home in Rockford. She also worked for the Mercer County Nursing Home for 5 years and Georgetown Nursing Home for 4 years. Leah is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Dwight Reynolds of Aledo; a granddaughter, Jenny Reynolds of Aledo; a sister and brother-in-law, Leanne and David Helton of Sterling Heights, Michigan and a sister-in-law, Teresa Kroll of Lake Zurick, IL. Leah was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Gene Kroll. This memorial may be viewed and condolences sent to the family at www.TrimbleFuneralHomes.com.
