Illinois City, Illinois Lawrence L. Mueller, 92 of Illinois City, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 1, 2002 at Trinity West Medical Center, Rock Island. Services are Friday at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, Taylor Ridge with Rev. John Hafermann officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at Zion Lutheran Church. Trimble Funeral Home, Aledo is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the church. Lawrence Louis Mueller was born on August 4, 1909 on a farm near Edgington, the son of George C. and Mary Attig Mueller. He married Anna Laura Parks on August 29, 1934 at Mapledean Farm, Reynolds, Illinois. Mr. Mueller farmed for 52 years before retiring. He was a 33 year director of the Hamlet Mutual Insurance Co. He was chairman of the founding board of the Rock Island County Board of School Trustees, of which he was a member for many years. He was Past President of the Consolidated Edgington Grade School District, a former 4-H leader of the Edgington Go-Getters, a past member of the Mer-Roc Service Board, a former Rock Island County Fair Board Member, a director of the Rock Island Farm Bureau, and an early promoter of soil conservation in Rock Island County. He was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church were he previously held the office of trustee and elder. Mr. Mueller is survived by his wife of 67 years, Anna L., a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and David Reason of Buffalo Prairie; 4 sons and daughters-in-law: James L. and Shirley of Peoria; George R. and Cherryl of Taylor Ridge; Don P. and Nancy of Roach, MO and Michael D. and Vera of Omaha, NE; 13 grandchildren, Mitchell & Maureen Mueller, Matthew & Tina Mueller, Mark Mueller, David & Karen Mueller, George Christopher & Amy Mueller, Melinda & John Wiborg, Melissa & Dustin Joy, Natalie & Randall Bachman, Cynthia Mueller, Elizabeth & Jason Flickinger, Laura & Donald A.Wall, Jennifer Reason, and Jonathan Mueller; 3 Step-grandchildren, Martin and Matthew Litwiler and Marcie Buick. He is also survived by a sister, Evelyn Parchert, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Mueller was preceded in death by his sisters; Laura Oak, Lottie Oak, Florence Anderson, Bertha Winegard and brothers, Ernest and Herman Mueller.
