Kenneth W. Brauneis

Moline, Illinois Kenneth E. Brauneis, age 73, of Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at his residence. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday in Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Private family burial will take place in Aledo Cemetery, Aledo, Illinois. Memorials may be given to the family or to the American Cancer Society. Kenneth Walter Brauneis was born May 6, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Art and Lillian (Beherndt) Brauneis. He attended Northern Illinois University, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married the former Joan Boultinghouse on September 9, 1961 in Park Ridge, Illinois. Mr. Brauneis was a letter carrier for the Moline Post Office for over 34 years, retiring in 1988, and was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. He enjoyed hunting and had a special dog friend named Velvet that would follow him on his route. Survivors include his wife, Joan; daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Paul Brown of Rock Island; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David and Sharon Brauneis of Flagstaff, Arizona, and Dan Brauneis of St. Joseph, Missouri; and a sister and brother-in-law, Delores and Richard Brown of Marietta, Ohio.
