Moline, Illinois Kaye Spelletich Getz, 83, of Moline, died on Monday, December 3, 2001 in the Alzheimer's Unit of Heartland Health Care Center, Moline, where she had been a resident since January, 1999. Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Christ Episcopal Church, Moline. The Reverend Douglas Grandon will officiate. Private burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. There is no visitation. Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Katherine's/St. Mark's School, Bettendorf; the Quad City Symphony Orchestra; or Christ Episcopal Church, Moline. She was born February 16, 1918 in Davenport, Iowa to Kalman and Hilda (Von Korf) Spelletich. She graduated from St. Katherine's School in Davenport, and attended McMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois and The Goodman Theater School of the Art Institute in Chicago. She married William Getz of Moline on April 16, 1940, in Davenport, Iowa. She served as a member of both the Junior and Senior Boards of the Quad City Symphony Orchestra, the Board of St. Katherine's/St. Mark's school the Board of the William Butterworth Memorial Trust, The Playcrafter's Barn Theater and the Vestry of Christ Episcopal Church, Moline. While studying at The Goodman Theater, she spent a summer as a member of the acting company of the Lake Zurich Playhouse in Lake Zurich, Illinois. Later as an active member of Playcrafters, she appeared in many productions, and in the early days of television did commercials for several area businesses on what was then WOC-TV. She was a member of the Tri-City Garden Club, The Rock Island Arsenal Golf Club and the White Lake Yacht Club. She is survived by her husband; daughters Stephanie Sandell of London, England, Pamela Garton (Robert Jr.) of Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, Martha Cogswell of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a son, John, of Pacific Palisades, California; grandchildren Elizabeth (Kirk) Scanlon, Christina (Peter) Coppolillo; Adam Sandell; Alexandra Sandell; Katherine Cogswell; Sara Cogswell, Timothy Cogswell, and Hannah Getz; great-grandchildren Finlay and Willa Scanlon and Henry and Nina Coppolillo; and a sister, Madeline Sonneville of Davenport.
