Kathryn C. Daab

Kathryn C. Daab, 96, of East Moline, Illinois, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015, in Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, Illinois.

Services are 11 a.m. Friday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with Pastor Ron Burnet officiating. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is one hour before the services. Memorials may be made to Crosstown Baptist Church, Silvis, Illinois.

The former Kathryn Charlotte Pitzer was born September 30, 1918, in Mount Sterling, Illinois, to William and Hattie (Robbins) Pitzer. She married John H. Daab on September 24, 1938, in Hannibal, Missouri, He died February 18, 2005. She formerly owned and operated Shear Magic Beauty Shop in East Moline. She was a member of Crosstown Baptist Church and a former member of Sun Coast Baptist Church, New Port Richey, Florida. She enjoyed craft work and decorating, and organizing and setting up mission conferences for her church.

Kathryn is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Harry Moore of Albert Lea, Minnesota; a son-in-law and his wife, Ernest and Susan Ballard of East Moline; grandchildren and their spouses, Todd and Hollie Ballard, Craig Moore, and Benjamin and Robyn Moore; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Abram, and Aaliyah Moore. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Diane Ballard; and a sister, Marion Welt.
