Kathleen Coopmans, 66, of Moline, long-time Rock Island teacher, died Friday, April 22, 2005, in her daughter?s home in Wildwood, Missouri.
Services are 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, and 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Christ The King Catholic Church, Moline, with Rev. Donald Levitt officiating. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where the Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The former Mary Kathleen Falconer was born July 24, 1938, in Ryan, Iowa, the daughter of Donald Charles and Irene Johanna (McDonald) Falconer. She graduated from Marycrest College, Davenport, and received her Master?s Degree from Western Illinois University in Macomb. She married Lloyd Arno Coopmans on August 20, 1960, in Ryan, Iowa. He died December 5, 1995.
Kathleen was a school teacher in Rock Island Public Schools for 30 years, retiring from Ridgewood Elementary School in 2000. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, King?s Daughters, and Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. She enjoyed golf, Bridge, traveling, walking, and gardening. She was a loving mother and ?Nanna.?
Kathleen is survived by three children and their spouses, Howard and Diane Coopmans of Rochester Hills, Michigan, Carrie and Kevin Harrison and Corry and Vicki Coopmans, all of Wildwood, Missouri; five grandchildren, Conner, Cooper, and Callie Harrison, Ryan Coopmans, and Benjamin Coopmans; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Ruth Falconer of Manchester, Iowa, and David and Margaret Falconer of Frankfort, Kentucky; and her mother-in-law, Mary Coopmans of Chesterfield, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her father-in-law, Louis Coopmans.
