Julie M. Grafton

Julie M. Grafton, 77, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, December 5, 2016, in her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Friday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory following the funeral. Graveside service and burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should meet at the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Monday. A memorial fund will be established in her name.

The former Julie Margaret West was born January 28, 1939, in Moline, to Dudley and Olga (Hempel) West. She graduated from Moline High School, and married her high school sweetheart James A. Grafton on July 7, 1957, in Moline. Her smile, love, and compassion will be missed by all, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Julie is survived by her husband, James; three children, James L. Grafton and his wife Lynn of Silvis, Illinois, Lori VanderVinne of Moline, and Susan Grafton of Birnamwood, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Ruth Maine and her husband Jerry of Denver, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ted West.
