Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to https://animalassistedtherapyeducation.org/donate. Animal Aid of Moline, Illinois, also she believed did justice to the cats !!

The former Joyce Marie Baker was born August 21, 1936, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Verne and Agness Marie (Cooper) Baker. She walked to her grade school and junior high and had red pigtails. She married Jack Bisdorf and later divorced bearing one daughter. Later on in life she married the late Jim Osborn in Moline, Illinois, and divorced and enjoyed her family and friends.

She started working at Royal Neighbors of America in 1972 and retired in 1998 as a computer operator. She owned an Apple phone years later that had special nicknames and we often laughed she was a tekkie! She was a black belt in Karate and earned a distinguished office management certificate that she lost countless hours studying Algebra .

She loved to shop with Dawn, Louanne, and Karen. She enjoyed going out to eat with Jeff, Jen and kids, Bev, Barb and Sharon. She liked exploring the outdoors with Debbie and talking to the neighbors, Gene and Karen, and Robbie Sowers. She loved NASCAR and keeping up in the lives of her nieces, Linda, Susie, and Sally.

She loved Halloween, penny gambling, reading horror books, and being a grandma to James, Daniel, and Derek. She was a hands-on meemaw being a grand panther at Derek’s school. She gives credit to her brother, Gene, for teaching her about money and his wife, Janice Baker, for keeping her hooting and hollering. She missed her late sister, Carol , who preceded her in departure 2 years ago. She loved felines and was surrounded by kitty love at home and everywhere she went. Marshmallow and Blossom both saw to it that she left with cat hair and purrs.

Joyce is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Jennifer Osborn of Moline; daughters, Dawn Osborn of Albuquerque, and Debbie Sheil of Priest River, Idaho; three grandchildren, James, Daniel and Derek; and the last Baker child and the oldest, Gene (Janice) Baker of Moline. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Carol Lee.
