Joyce E. Peters

Joyce E. Peters, 87, of Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with The Rev. Mariah Marlin-Warfield officiating. Cremation will take place prior to services at Trimble Crematory. Burial with be in Rock Island National Cemetery at a later date.

The former Joyce Elaine Feldhahn was born September 28, 1930, in Rock Island, Illinois, the daughter of Arthur and Charlotte (Danielson) Feldhahn. She married John Peters on August 1, 1948, in Rock Island. He died August 18, 2017.

Prior to becoming a homemaker, Joyce worked for the Rock Island Arsenal, Fresh Pak Candy Company in Moline, and Solo Cup in Kansas City. She was a member of Church of Peace United Church of Christ, Rock Island, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and Rainbow Girls as a teenager. She enjoyed square dancing, playing board games, and spending time with her family.

Joyce is survived by three children, Linda Breitenbucher of Davenport, Susan Eastman and her husband Jack of Geneva, New York, and Joseph A. Peters of Moline; two granddaughters, Shelly Telsrow and Tracey Westervelt; great-grandchildren, Cody, Deshae, Britta, McKenna, Sydney, Dillon, and Maranda; numerous great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Arliss Stone of Rock Island, and Alvin Feldhahn of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; a granddaughter, Tammy Balzer; and brothers, William and Edward Feldhahn.
