Jose R. Zepeda

Jose R. Zepeda, 67, of Moline, Illinois, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at home.

Services to celebrate Jose’s life will be held Monday, January 16, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, beginning with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until Noon. The celebration will continue with a time of sharing for family and friends beginning at Noon. Cremation will take place following services at Trimble Crematory, Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.

Jose Raul Zepeda was born October 22, 1955, in Moline, the son of Baldomero and Otila (Betancourt) Zepeda. He married Sherry Lundburg on November 1, 1991. He worked at the Rock Island Arsenal for over 25 years.

He enjoyed cooking, gardening, working on projects at home, going to garage sales, watching sci-fi films, and going to Starbucks. Above all else, family and the family pets were the most important thing to Jose.

Jose is survived by his beloved wife, Sherry of Moline; five children, Nancy Benson of Moline, Marisa (Greg) Peeters of Solon, Iowa, Sarah (Chad) Lenning of Groveland, Illinois, Nic Zepeda of Bettendorf, and Jared Zepeda of Bettendorf; his grandchildren, Megan, Joseph, Jacob, Jordan, Jaclyn, Kayla, Corey, Ethan, Alaina, Caleb, Tyler, Keira, Owen, Addison, Maddox, Kennedy, and Jamison; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Ava, Emma, Wyatt, Elijah, Ezequiel, and Idris; siblings, Abiel (Gloria) Zepeda, Raymond (Kim) Zepeda, Oscar Zepeda, Cindy (John) Izaguirre, David Zepeda, Irma (John) Parker, Diana (Sergio) Garza, and Robert Zepeda; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Brandon Lundquist; and a sister, Rosie Zepeda.
