John H. Lamar

John H. LaMar, 71, of Moline, Illinois, died Friday, January 6, 2023, at home in Coal Valley, Illinois.

Services are 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation is from 2:00 until time of services. Cremation will take place prior to service at Trimble Crematory, with burial at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in John’s memory.

John Henry LaMar was born July 5, 1951, in Pekin, Illinois, the son of Austin “Aussie” and Francis Colleen (Terrell) LaMar. He married the love of his life, Connie Lawver, on July 10, 1970, in Peoria, Illinois.

He worked in construction most of his life, starting out with Charlie Bess, then alongside his brother, Dale, at LaMar Concrete. John enjoyed watching drag racing and was an avid Chicago Bears’ fan. Above all else, though, family was the most important thing to John. He loved his beloved fur babies, Boslee, Bell and Milan, and his beloved granddaughters and great-granddaughters.

John is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Connie; his daughter and son-in-law, Rana and Joshua Muller of Coal Valley; three granddaughters, Amanda (Joshua Jared) LaMar of Coal Valley, Brianna (Ed) Beason of Rock Island, and Kaylee Schriver of Davenport; three great-granddaughters, Brynleigh Jared, Everleigh Jared, and Leilani Beason; siblings, Dale (Jewel) LaMar of Moline, Tom (Lisa) LaMar of Vandalia, Illinois, Roy Caskey of Davenport, Andy LaMar of Davenport, Bud (Katie) Butler of Davenport, Brian (Michelle) Butler of Ramsey, Illinois, and Lila LaMar of Davenport; many nieces and nephews; and his three loyal companions, Boslee, Bell and Mila. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert John LaMar; his parents; a brother, Terry LaMar; and sisters, Marilyn Darnell and Francis Schaefer.
