John C. Willard

John C. Willard, 43, of Moline, Illinois, died unexpectedly Monday, December 4, 2017, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, Illinois.

A gathering to celebrate John's life 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Highland Park Bowl, Moline. Friends are invited to dress casually in "Hoodies and Cubs for J-Dubs". Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for his daughter, Madisson, at Sexton Ford. Donations may be made to Sexton Ford and mailed to 3802 16th Street, Moline, or brought to the celebration of John's life.

John was born September 25, 1974, in Moline, the son of Dwayne and Deborah (Dempsey) Willard. He graduated from UTHS in 1993. He worked at Bucky's Palace Tavern in Moline for several years. He married Kathy Moneymaker on October 7, 2006, in Carbon Cliff, Illinois, and the marriage brought John the love of his life, his daughter, Madisson.

For over a decade, John worked at Sexton Ford in Moline, where he was the lot supervisor, but did any and everything that was needed. He was the "rock" of the dealership, and absolutely loved his job and co-workers.

He liked games and sports of all kinds, including darts, pool, bags, golf, fishing, volleyball, softball, bowling, and board games. He was very competitive and claimed to "never lose at anything", and was also an avid Chicago Cubs' fan. Anyone who ever met John loved him, and he has countless friends to prove it. Above all else, his world revolved around his daughter, Madisson.

John is survived by his children, Madisson Willard, and Nicholas, Taylor and Alex Reedy; a brother, Jason Willard of Silvis; grandchildren, Isabella and Mason Reedy; his girlfriend, Jennifer Church, and her sons, Austin and Cody; nieces and nephews, Chanel, Joseph and Jeremiah Willard, and Wayne Edwards; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
