John C. Schuldt

John C. Schuldt, 87, of Moline, died, Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Services are 11:00 AM, Tuesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Visitation is Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Moline American Legion, Post 246.
John Clayton Schuldt was born May 6, 1918 in Arena, Wisconsin, the son of Gus and Anna (Cannon) Schuldt. He married the former Cleona Beckman on October 14, 1942 in Blackstone, Virginia. John served in the United States Army during World War II and was awarded ?The Purple Heart? for injuries he received on March 5, 1944, during the landing on Anzio Beach, Italy.
Mr. Schuldt was employed as a machinist at the John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline, retiring in 1980.
John was a member of the Moline American Legion, Post 246, Friends Circle, UAW Retirees, and the John Deere Retirees. He was an avid bowler, and played the drums with Freddie?s Rhythm King?s for 35 years. John especially loved his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Cleona of Moline, two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Carla Schuldt of Moline, and Ron and Rhonda Schuldt of Rock Island, four grandchildren, Donavon Schuldt of Phoenix, AZ, and Jaymie, Bryan, and Zachary Schuldt, all of Rock Island, two step-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Reed, and Josephine Chase, and four brothers, Clyde Claude, Clement, and Clifford Schuldt.
