Joanne Jessie, 76, of Moline, Illinois, died Monday, December 9, 2013, in her home.

A memorial gathering celebrating Joanne's life will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Rock Island Eagles Club, 5103 11th Street, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, is assisting the family.

Joanne Mitchell was born July 3, 1937, in Moline, to Paul William and Irene Purkapile Mitchell. She was employed in data entry at Peco Enterprises, Davenport, Iowa. She belonged to the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Rock Island, and was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan.

Joanne is survived by three children, Douglas Dyer of New Boston, Illinois, Sherry (Danny) Mathis of Moline, and Tonya Jessie of Milan, Illinois; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her four surviving "butt sisters," June, Sharon, Pam, and Diane. She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Dyer.
