Moline, Illinois Jim Burns, 66, of Moline died Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at Parkview Terrace, East Moline. Private family burial will be at the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Trimble Funeral Home, Moline is in charge of arrangements. Jim was born on December 19, 1936 in Carthage, Illinois to James N. and Mary I. (Dumon) Burns. He married Shirley Piper on September 24, 1966 in Rock Island. Jim was a United States Air Force Veteran. He was employed by the Moline Tool Company. Jim was a devoted grandfather. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing and football. Jim is survived by his wife, Shirley; a daughter, Sharon Phares of Moline; granddaughters: Ashley and Bailey Phares and a sister and brother-in-law: Pat and Roger DeBacker of Moline.
