Rock Island, Illinois Services for Jessie C. Johnson, 95, of Rock Island, formerly of Moline, are 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Congregational Church, Moline. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation is at the church one hour before the services. Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to ICARE, Illinois Curing Autism Through Research and Education, 851 Bowling Green, Homewood, IL 60430. Mrs. Johnson died Thursday, February 12, 2004, in Silver Cross Nursing Center, Rock Island. The former Jessie Claire Cady was born October 7, 1908, in Geneseo, the daughter of Walter French and Clara (Lamont) Cady. She married Herbert V. Johnson on June 16, 1931, in Geneseo. He died August 16, 1981. Prior to her marriage, she was a secretary for Hull Insurance Agency in Prophetstown, Illinois, for four years. She was a member of First Congregational Church, Moline; Moline Ladies of the Elks; Sterling Chapter #354, Order of Eastern Star; and Lillian Wendt Circle of Kings Daughters. Her main interest was her grandchildren, and she enjoyed sewing. Jessie is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Gloria Johnson of Bella Vista, Arkansas; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and James Meeker of Milan; six grandchildren and their spouses, Sue and Jay Davis and Sherry and David Holcomb, all of Manhattan, Kansas, Brent and Kerry Johnson of Indianola, Iowa, Brad and Missy Johnson of Johnson City, Tennessee, James P. Meeker of Norfolk, Virginia, and Kimberly and James Williamson of Arrowsmith, Illinois; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, Neva Hall and Famah Echardt, and a brother, Dale Cady.
