Janis E. Rettig

Janis E. Rettig, 65, of Coal Valley, Illinois, passed away Monday, January 13, 2020, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island.

A time of sharing for family and friends will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 25, at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of sharing. Cremation will take place prior to services at Trimble Crematory, Moline, with burial to follow at Manchester Cemetery, Manchester, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to QC Paws.

The former Janis Elaine McKean was born June 10, 1954, in Jacksonville, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and F. Eloise (Hayes) McKean. She married Ron Rettig on February 13, 2011, in New Boston, Illinois.

Jan enjoyed shopping, reading and taking car rides. Above all else, family was the most important thing to her, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Ron; two daughters, Hope Schenebricker of Rock Island, and Faith (Dustin) Houk of Coal Valley; her beloved grandchildren, Izaiah Fuller and Addilyn Houk; and her cat, Oogy. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Albert Lyons; a brother, William McKean; and her beloved cat of 22 years, Samantha.
