Janet S. Byers

Janet S. Byers, 64, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Sunday, January 17, 2021, at home surrounded by family.

There will be no public services. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Burial will take place at Coal Valley Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Janet’s memory.

The former Janet Sue Surratt was born August 28, 1956, in Jacksonville, Illinois, the daughter of Bernard and Norma (Lacey) Surratt. She married Donald Byers on December 14, 1974, in Rock Island, Illinois.

She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Janet is survived by her beloved husband, Don; three children, Donald F. (Jessica) Byers, Jr. of Coal Valley, Heather (Brent) Mittman of Davenport, Iowa, and Stephanie Wright of Cedar Falls, Iowa; grandchildren, Kierra, Devin, Dustyn, Kamrin, Brendon, DeAnna, Maddisen, and Payten; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
