Janet L. Cole

Janet L. Cole, 67, of Silvis, Illinois, died Thursday, November 12, 2015, at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis.

Services are 10:00 a.m. Monday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, with The Reverend Tanner Payton officiating. Visitation is 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Following visitation, cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.

The former Janet Lynn Caldwell was born December 2, 1947, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Lee and Helen (Benedict) Caldwell. She was raised by her father and step-mother, Joanne. She married Francis E. "Gene" Cole on October 19, 1968, in Agency, Iowa. He died September 11, 2015.

She was an active member of Word of Life in Rock Island. She enjoyed cooking for other people, and was known for randomly bringing baked goods to different families at the church. She liked watching the webcam of the Decorah Eagles. Her family was her life, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Janet is survived by three children, Ronald Lee Cole of Silvis, Carl Cole, and Theresa and Mike Haggard of Port Byron, Illinois; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lois (Larry) Williams, Lee Caldwell, and Carrie (Jeff) Clark; a brother, Gary Caldwell; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; a granddaughter, Brenna; both parents; and a brother, Bob Caldwell.
