James Wesley Morrison

Services for James Wesley "Wes" Morrison, age 81, of Moline, are 10:30 AM Thursday in Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. The Reverend Eugene Wilson officiating. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. A memorial fund will be established for his granddaughter's education fund. Mr. Morrison died Sunday, January 11, 2004 in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. James Wesley Morrison was born December 19, 1922 in Mason City, Illinois, the only child of John Henry and Maude Louise (Tomlin) Morrison. He came to Quad City Area in 1941 living at the YMCA in Rock Island. He married the former Margaret Ann Kauffman on June 28, 1946 at Bethel Methodist Church in Moline. He worked a variety of occupations including International Harvester and several service stations in Rock Island. He was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal retiring after 32 years of service. Most of his life he worked two jobs. After retirement at the Arsenal he worked part time for 25 years delivering medications for The Prescription Shop of Moline. He then worked for Option Care of Moline and most recently for Illini Pharmacy in Silvis. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church of Moline. He was an avid bowler, Chicago Cub and Quad City Mallard Fan. He spent summers growing the most beautiful flowers in the neighborhood . He will be remembered as a sweet, kind, fun loving fellow who never met a person he didn't like. He is survived by his two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda Morrison of Geneseo, and Carol and her husband Philip Helms of Aurora, Colorado, two granddaughters, Jessica Erin and Meghan Ashlee Helms of Aurora, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret in 1999, and his son, Terry Lee Morrison in 1984.
