Alice J. James, 91, of East Moline, Illinois, formerly of Moline, died Saturday, June 7, 2008, in Illini Restorative Care, Silvis, Illinois.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday in Faith Lutheran Church, Moline, with The Reverend Dr. Mark Gehrke officiating. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is one hour before the service. Memorials may be made to the church. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, is entrusted with arrangements.
The former Alice Jeanette Fahlberg was born September 1, 1916, in Princeton, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph and Oddie (Tambur) Fahlberg. She married Kelly James on December 6, 1933, in Dixon, Illinois. He died January 17, 1975. She was an accounting clerk for the City of Moline for 20 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Moline, Naomi Circle of the church, and Edith Cavell Circle of King?s Daughters. She loved her family and enjoyed playing Bridge.
Alice is survived by two children and their spouses, Sheila and Arthur Benzon of East Moline, and Lon and Sue James of Sun City West, Arizona; two grandchildren and their spouses, Kelly and Barb Benson of East Moline, and Chellee and Darrin Norin of Moline; three great-grandchildren, Alex Benzon and Morgan and Kyle Norin; two step-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and one sister.
