Edward Junior Brasmer, 40, of Sherrard, Illinois, died Sunday, December 17, 2006, in his residence.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley, with Father Duane Jack officiating. Burial is in Farlow Grove Cemetery, Matherville. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a trust fund which will be established for his children.
Edward was born September 8, 1966, in Moline, the son of Edward Joseph and Linda (Blaylock) Brasmer. He graduated from Sherrard High School. He married Virginia Klauer on November 4, 1995, in Sherrard. He was lead man for Valley Construction Company, and previously worked for Westerlund Trucking.
He loved to make things with his hands, and was always trying to come up with an invention so he could retire early. Some of the things he made were very ingenious. He loved 1955 Chevys and always dreamed of restoring one. He loved his children very much, and he will be very much missed by his family and friends. He loved to go camping and fishing with his children.
Edward is survived by his wife, Virginia; a daughter, Courtney Brasmer of Moline; a son, Colton Brasmer of New Windsor; his mother and step-father, Linda and Ken Gill of Sherrard; a sister and brother-in-law, Robin and Dave Descamps of Coal Valley; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick and Michelle Gill, Steve Muhleman and Tony Muhleman, all of Sherrard; Joseph and Lori Brasmer of Guinn. Alabama, and Bobby and Johnna Brasmer of Tipton, Iowa; his grandmother, Modie Blaylock of Milan; and nieces and nephews, Jacob, Jessica, Brock, and Joey Redecker, Elizabeth and Hannah Gill, and Audury and Delton Brasmer. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward; his grandfather, Alvin Blaylock, and his grandmother, Daisy Brasmer.
