Ignacio R. Prado

Ignacio R. "Nacho" Prado, 78, of Davenport, Iowa, died Saturday, November 25, 2017, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport, surrounded by his family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to the Davenport American Legion Post #26, who will present military honors. Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory, Moline, is entrusted with arrangements.

He was born July 31, 1939, in Fort Madison, Iowa, the son of Ladislao and Cleofas (Rodriguez) Prado. He graduated from Fort Madison High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army and was proud to be a part of the 101st Airborne Division. He married Audrey Becceril, and the couple had three children together before separating.

Nacho retired from Cameron & Barkley Co in Rock Island (formerly DEWCO), in 2001. After retiring, he worked as a greeter for the I-80 Truck Stop and as a parking attendant for the City of Davenport.

He was a member of the Quad City Clown Association, enjoyed calling Bingo and square dancing, and was a talented cake decorator.

Nacho is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Nellie Brock and Devin McMillen of Silvis, and Benita and James Schulte of Huntley, Illinois; nine grandchildren, Derek Brock, Dylan and Kristin Brock, Myka McMillen, Drake Wash-Prado, Madison Wash, and Jacob, Emily, and Madeline Schulte; a sister, Benita Aguirre of Fort Madison; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, Ignacio R. "Nacho" Prado, Jr.; his parents; and siblings, Lupe Makowskie, Paula Patino, Lelo, Thomas, Francisca, Emilio, Bart, and Esther Prado, and Amparo Vela.
