Hildur Swanson

Hildur Swanson, age 96 of Moline, died Monday, May 24, 2004 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Services will be 11:00 AM, Friday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline with the Reverend Christian Meyer officiating. Visitation is from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Friday prior to the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline. Hildur was born May 13, 1908 in Moline the daughter of Carl and Ellen (Swenson) Kallenberg. She married G. Arthur Swanson on June 6, 1939 in Moline. He preceded her in death February 20, 1973. Hildur retired as the Manager of the Credit Department at Moline Radiology Associates. She had previously worked for sixteen years at Royal Neighbors of America, and at the OPA office during World War II.
Hildur was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline for over 80 years, and sang in the church choir for over 65 years. She also held memberships in the Eastern Star, Minnie Stephens Allen Circle of King's Daughters, and the Women's Club of Moline. Hildur's survivors include her daughter, Jean Ray of Moline, three grandchildren and their spouses, Kim and Dave Simon, Big Rapids, MI, Ron and Helen Gatlin, Colona, IL, and Ray McQuilliam, Moline, four step-grandchildren and spouses, Deb and Ed Cosman, Bloomingdale, IL, Vietta Ray, Oceanside, CA, Lisa Ray, and Paul Garis, both of Aurora, IL, eleven great-grandchildren, special niece and nephew, Barbara Smith of Ohio, Ret. Col. Thomas I. Swanson, Sun City West, AZ, special friends, Julie and Allan Hartsock, Moline, and her loving companion, Fritzie.
