Henry Nell Stromberg was born on February 16, 1933, in Jefferson, Georgia, to Emma Kathleen (Couch) and Ralph Silman. After high school she joined the United States Air Force and served in the nursing division during the Korean War. While in the Air Force, she met Alden Stromberg. They married in 1954 in Phoenix, Arizona, and he passed away in 1979. Shortly after moving to Moline, she began her career as a nurse's aide. She retired in 2002 from what is now UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island. When she wasn't working at the hospital, her kind heart continued to help others. She often donated to the disabled veterans, volunteered at the Mississippi Valley Blood Bank and served the hungry for many years.

Henry was also a very active member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Moline. She had many friends within the church and enjoyed going to lunch bunch and being with her reunion group. In her free time, she loved to read. Henry also enjoyed a wide variety of music, and loved to sing along to hymns.
