Helen Clary Machalek

Coal Valley, Illinois Helen Clary Machalek, 88, of Coal Valley, died Thursday, September 5, 2002, in Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis. Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. The Reverend Tim Snart will officiate. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Illinois Heart Association. The former Helen Caroline Williams was born August 4, 1914, in Kewanee, Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Mary Edith (Watts) Williams. She married Stanley Clary in 1934, in Dixon, Illinois. He died in 1952. She married Bennie Machalek in 1957, in Davenport. He died in 1986. She was a computer and data processing operator at the Rock Island Arsenal for 18 years, retiring in 1976. She previously worked at J. I. Case Company, Bettendorf, and Sears in Moline. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley, Moline Senior Citizens, Order of Eastern Star, and PTA. She enjoyed crocheting, working in her yard, and being with her family and friends. Helen is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Dolores and Ronald Weedon of Pleasant Valley, Iowa; a step-daughter, Kathy Clary of Coal Valley; four grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Jennifer Clary of Milan, Luan McColl of Coal Valley, Robert Connors of East Moline, and Jerry Connors of Pleasant Valley; eight step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; ten step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four step-great-great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Wayne Cunningham of Colona, Illinois.
