Harriet Lehnherr, 89, of Davenport, Iowa, formerly of Holland, Michigan, Moline, Illinois, and Naples, Florida, died Sunday, April 26, 2009, at Ridgecrest Retirement Village, Davenport.
Graveside services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Pilgrim Home Cemetery, Holland, Michigan, with a luncheon to follow. Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, is assisting the family.
The former Harriet Julia Haverdink was born January 14, 1920, in Allegan County Michigan, the daughter of Ralph and Helena (Oetman) Haverdink. She married John G. Swieringa on August 31, 1940, in Holland, Michigan. He died July 3, 1965. She married Robert Lehnherr on February 14, 1976, in Moline. He died September 15, 2005.
Harriet is survived by a son, Robert (Pamela) Swieringa of Ithaca, New York; a daughter, Jilane (Paul) Savignano of East Moline, Illinois; step-children, Bob (Pat) Lehnherr of DeWitt, Iowa, and Mari (Michael) McCuistion of Colleyville, Texas; grandchildren, John W. (Amy) Swieringa of Denver, Colorado, Elizabeth (Mark) Perry of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Paul R. Savignano of Santa Barbara, California, and Mark Savignano of Longmont, Colorado, Rob (Kelly) Lehnherr of West Dundee, Illinois, Lori Johnson of Magnolia, Arkansas, and Kate Croucher of Melbourne, Australia; four great-grandchildren; a sister and brother, Hazel (Jarvis) Zoet, and Harvey (Harriet) Haverdink all of Hamilton, Michigan; brothers-in-law, Gerrit Swieringa, Bernie (Ethel) Swieringa, Les (Coral) Swieringa, Harold Helder, and LeRoy Kirkland, and a sister-in-law, Leona Topp, all of the Holland area; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers George and Andy, a sister, Janet, and an infant son, Donald J. Swieringa.
