Harold L. Nelsen

Moline, Illinois Harold L. Nelsen, 77, of Moline, died Wednesday, November 5, 2003, in Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Elim Covenant Church, Moline, with Rev. John Jacobi officiating. Burial is in National Cemetery on the Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Memorials may be made to the church or Christian Friendliness Association. Harold Leonard Nelsen was born November 27, 1925, in Moline, the son of Harold P. and Vivian (Nicholson) Nelsen. He graduated from Moline High School, and served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during WW II. He married JoAnn Mullen on June 12, 1948, in Moline. He was employed by Parr Instrument Company, Moline, for 38 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Elim Covenant Church, Moline, and Moline Activity Center. He dearly loved his family and served God's church and family in many ways. He enjoyed participating in and watching sports, especially golf, softball, and basketball, coaching his children's sports teams, and camping with family and friends. Harold is survived by his wife, JoAnn; three children and their spouses, Steven and Theresa Nelsen of Wausau, Wisconsin, Sally and Gregg Lingenfelder of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Sheila and Don Yoeckel of Moline; seven grandchildren, Matt and Miranda Nelsen, Amy and Aaron Lingenfelder, Ryan Yoeckel and his wife Jessica, and Molly and Doug Yoeckel; a sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Rich Johnson of Moline; and his extended family, Shirley and Kenny Warren of Moline, Ted and Rose Ann Mullen of Palm Springs, California, Richard Seyller of Hooppole, Illinois, Emmajean Mullen of Bettendorf, and Cheri Nelsen of Davenport.
