Harold D. "Dusty" Mabie

Harold D. “Dusty” Mabie, 59, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Dusty’s memory.

Harold Dustin Mabie was born January 26, 1963, in Rockford, Illinois, and was the son of Daniel A. and Lola (Glenn) Smith. He married the love of his life, Lori Blair, in 1987, in Rock Island, Illinois. He was a gifted cook, most notably at the Windmill in East Moline for 12 years.

He enjoyed watching Nascar (especially Jeff Gordon), westerns, and college football. He also loved fishing, cooking, and spending time with his family.

Dusty is survived by his wife, Lori Mabie; his daughter, Cherree Blair of East Moline; three grandchildren, Nicole Hollon, Cayla Long, and Lincoln Callahan; sisters, Liz Zeroth of Moline, and Bonnie (Kriss) Kent of Colona; and several nieces, nephews and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents.
