Charles D. ?Chuck? Quimby, Jr., 46, of Silvis, Illinois, died unexpectedly Sunday, September 25, 2011, at home.
Services are 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline, with Fr. Jim DeBisschop officiating. Visitation is 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, where the Moline American Legion Post #246 will present military honors. Memorials may be made to the family.
Charles Dean Quimby, Jr. was born February 24, 1965, in Moline, Illinois, the son of Charles Dean, Sr. and Marilyn Jean (VanZuyt) Quimby. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He married Sherry Anderson on March 9, 1996, in East Moline, Illinois.
Chuck worked for Loffredo Fresh Produce in Rock Island since 1991. He was an avid Chicago White Sox and Miami Dolphins fan. He was a coach for his daughter?s Silvis Sluggers softball team.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Sherry; a son and daughter, Patrick D. and Katie J. Quimby, both at home; his mother, Marilyn Quimby of Moline; a brother, Rick Morales of Moline; a sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Michael Cosgrove of Ottumwa, Iowa; a mother-in-law, Cathy Anderson of Milan, Illinois; four sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Carol Ann Vest.
