Violet H. Johnson, 94, of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, in Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.
Services are 9:30 a.m. Friday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial is in Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to First Church of Christ, Scientist, Moline.
The former Violet Harlene Anderson was born in Moline on March 7, 1913, the daughter of Harry E. and Viola (Swanson) Anderson. She married Richard H. Johnson in Moline on June 29, 1941. He died August 26, 1989.
Violet worked for Moline Tool Company as a secretary, among many other duties. She later worked for the Moline Township Assessor?s office.
She was a 50 year member of both First Church of Christ, Scientist in Moline and the Moline Chapter #258 Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Moline Woman?s Club, Tau Delta Nu sorority, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and AARP.
Violet is survived by her daughter and her husband, Juliann K. Johnson and Gerry Luse of Brooksville, Florida, a sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Ben Zobrist of Lake Lotawana, Missouri, a niece, Helen Mayer, and nephews, William Behrmann, Jeffrey Behrmann, Karl Zobrist, Mark Zobrist, and Erik Zobrist. She was preceded in death by her husband, sisters, Harriet Behrmann and Merlynn Anderson, and a step-sister, Marjorie Burkland.
