Gerald Miller

Gerald C. Miller, 80, of Coal Valley, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, May 7th, 2017, at Good Samaritan Society, Geneseo, Illinois.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church in Coal Valley with Rev. Tim Snart officiating. Burial is in Rose Lawn Memorial Estate, Moline. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Memorials for Jerry can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Coal Valley.

Gerald Clifford Miller was born December 18, 1936, in Moline, the son of Robert and Helen Herbert Miller. He married Barbara S. Clanahan on February 17, 1962, in East Moline, Illinois. Jerry worked for 37 years for Eagle Food Center, Lucky Stores of Milan. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Coal Valley. Jerry enjoyed playing golf as a member of the Geneseo Country Club, reading, family, friends, his church and was a lifelong Chicago Bears and Cubs fan.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Barbara; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Carla Miller of Canton, Georgia, and Jay and Sandy Miller of Atkinson; and three grandchildren, Ashley, Amber and Greyson Miller. He is also survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Jack Schadt of East Moline, Paula and James Probizanski and Marsha and John Mende, all of Sebring, Florida, and Darrell Schroeder of Port Byron. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Shirley Schroeder and his brother Robert Miller.
