George W. Callahan

George W. Callahan, 89, of Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis, Illinois.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory with private burial to follow at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to one's favorite charity. Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory, Moline, is serving the family.

George was born July 24, 1926, in Moline, the son of William and Mary (Harlan) Callahan. He married Marjorie Wilson on November 10, 1946, in Rock Island, Illinois. She died January 9, 2015. He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II.

He was a banker in San Diego, California, for over 25 years, retiring in 1991. Previously, he had worked at DeSaulniers in Moline.

George is survived by sisters, Shirley Birmingham and Genevieve Brown of Orange, California; a sister-in-law, Nancy Callahan of Moline; and several nieces, nephews, and their families.
