George J. Boudi, Jr., 55, of Sherrard, died Friday, July 22, 2005, as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident in rural Rock Island County near Sherrard.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Celebration of Life Chapel at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley. Burial is in Sherrard Cemetery. Visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Sherrard Fire and Rescue or National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
George Joseph Boudi, Jr. was born May 10, 1950, in East Chicago, Indiana, the son of George and Louise Boudi. He graduated from Roosevelt High School, East Chicago, and Augustana College, Rock Island, in 1972. He played football at Augustana, and was back-up quarterback to Kenny Anderson, who later played with the Cincinnati Bengals for 12 years. George married Gayle Susan Chovanec on July 15, 1972, in East Chicago. She died December 15, 1999. He married Debra Vittitow Anderson on October 16, 2004, at Fyre Lake in Sherrard. George was self-employed as an independent stock trader. He previously was Senior Vice President of Citizens Federal Savings Bank in Davenport, and had worked at Ford Motor Company and Caterpillar.
George was a Fire and Rescue Volunteer for the Sherrard Fire Protection District for several years. He was patriotic, and enjoyed nature and the outdoors, scuba diving, golf, traveling, and riding his Harley. He loved his children, grandchildren, and wife.
George is survived by his wife, Debra; two children and their spouses, Megan and Bill Sutton of Sherrard, and Josh and Yvonne Boudi of Taylor Ridge; a granddaughter, Alayna Gayle Sutton; three step-children and their spouses, Jennifer and Kory Fiers of Orion, Corey and Robert Lambert of Moline, and Nathan and Claudia Anderson of Moline; two-step-grandchildren, Addison Lambert and Gage Anderson; and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Denise Boudi of Greenwood, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gayle, his parents, and a sister, Florence Ballentine.
