Moline, Illinois Services for George Grems Jr., 81, of Moline, are 11 a.m. Thursday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, with The Reverend Beth Pass, First Christian Church, Moline, officiating. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, where Moline American Legion Post #246 will present Military Honors. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, where Moline Lodge #1014, AF & AM, will conduct Masonic funeral services at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to Shriners' Crippled Children's Hospitals. Mr. Grems died suddenly Monday, March 17, 2003, in his home of natural causes. He was born October 4, 1921, in Rock Island, the son of Lillian and George Grems Sr. He married Mary Ann McClintock on July 11, 1943, in East Moline. She died January 11, 2000. He served in the U. S. Army during WW II, and was a brake operator at John Deere Plow-Planter Works for 30 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of Moline Lodge #1014, AF & AM, Moline American Legion Post #246, and Moline Viking Lodge. In earlier years, he coached Dad's Club baseball, and enjoyed watching baseball. George is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Bruce Baldwin of Coal Valley; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Cindy Grems of Bettendorf; four grandchildren, Rebecca and Melissa Baldwin and Kristin and Chris Grems; and two great-grandchildren, Makenzie Ford and Myah Gilbert.
