George Darrel Gaddey

Moline, Illinois Services for George D. Gaddey, 88, of Moline, are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is one hour before the services. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity. Mr. Gaddey died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, in his home. George Darrel Gaddey was born February 25, 1914, in Fairfield, Illinois, the son of George and Marie (Staser) Gaddey. He married Josephine Tieman on November 20, 1937, in Kentland, Indiana. She died July 26, 2000. He was a assembler at J. I. Case in Rock Island for 30 years, retiring in 1976. He previously taught grades 1 through 10 in country schools in Southern Illinois. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. George is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, George and Joyce Gaddey of East Moline and Dennis and Karen Gaddey of Davenport; three grandchildren, Mark Gaddey of Appleton, Wisconsin, Deborah Townsend of Perry, Iowa, and Nicole Gaddey of Davenport; and three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Cory, and Shelby Townsend. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and three sisters, Ernestine Gaddey, Lillian Knapp, and Evelyn Johnson.
