Gena M. Moore

Gena M. Moore, 60, of East Moline, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 10, 2022.

Private graveside services will be held at Rock Island National Cemetery. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center (qcawc.org).

Gena was born June 28, 1962, in Moline, Illinois. She married John Moore on June 29, 2002, in Davenport, Iowa.

She attended Marycrest College, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work. She served the community many years in a variety of roles as a social worker.

Gena’s last day was spent in service preparing food for the homeless in the company of her dear friend, Joy.

Gena is survived by the loves of her life, her husband, John, and companions, Rizzo, Otto and Sarge; two sons, Collin and Brad Laingen; a granddaughter, Raegan Laingen; her father, Larry Leidig; sisters, Tammy (Blake) Thomas and Danielle (Justin) Hoffman; nephews, Nathan Leidig, Kyle Leidig, Lucas Hoffman, and Brody Hoffman; a step-daughter, Christine (Casey) Crisp; and step-grandsons, Noah (Taliah) Crisp and Max (Nancy) Crisp. She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Leidig, and her brother, Edward Steele.
