Ferne G. Welch

Aledo, Illinois Ferne G. Welch, 92, formerly of Aledo, died Wednesday, February 19, 2003, in Manor Grove Nursing Home, Kirkwood, Missouri. Services are 2 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2003, at Trimble Funeral Home, Aledo. The Reverend John Crede will officiate. Burial is in Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is one hour before the services. Memorials may be made to Aledo United Methodist Church. The former Ferne Grace Richmond was born December 26, 1910, in Litchfield, Nebraska, the daughter of Guy and Charlotte (Heapy) Richmond. She married Carlyle J. "Jim" Welch in 1931, in Litchfield. He died in 1986. She was a former member of the Aledo United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women of the church, and Aledo Columbian Club. Ferne is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Guy F. and Danae Welch of San Pedro, California; a daughter, Gay R, Herron of Ballwin, Missouri; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Dale Richmond of Rio, Illinois; and a sister, Faye Dalley of Monmouth, Illinois.
